Robert Bruce Beatty

Robert Bruce Beatty went to be with the Lord on September 13, 2016. He was born on March 1, 1954 in East Orange, NJ. He moved to Greenville in 1956 with his parents Claire Richard and Frances Haught Beatty, where he lived for the remainder of his life.

He attended the University of South Carolina in Spartanburg where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree and subsequently attended Greenville Technical College where he earned an Associate in Business with a Major in Accounting. He worked as a Cost Accountant for multiple firms in the Upstate area.

Bruce was lover of dogs and was a long-time supporter of the local humane society. He loved history, cars, books, and all things Scottish.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Frances Beatty.

He is survived by his daughter Claire Beatty of Columbia; his brother Brent Beatty (Donna) of Birmingham; nieces Sarah Beatty and Rachel Beatty; nephew Jacob Beatty; and several cousins.

He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

Services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 10:00am at the Chapel at Woodlawn Funeral Home with burial to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

A visitation will be held Friday, September 16, 2016 from 6:00-8:00pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home.
