Ralph Duckworth Mahaffey Jr.

Ralph D. Mahaffey, Jr., 83, Greenville, passed at St. Francis Hospital on Nov. 13, 2013. Born in Greenville, SC, son of Ralph D. Mahaffey, Sr. and Grazzie Lee Davidson. Ralph is predeceased by a son Randall L. Mahaffey. He is survived by his wife Thelma Bailey Mahaffey; son: Dennis Mahaffey, wife Gale of Marietta; Daughters: Nancy Roberts, husband Mark of Jacksonville, FL and Pamela Taylor, husband Greg of Lyman, SC; five grandchildren: Hunter Mahaffey, Heather Lewis, Marc Howell, Ashley Mobley and Lance Mahaffey; three great-grandchildren; two brothers: Talmadge (T.B.) Mahaffey and Clifford Mahaffey; and a number of nieces and nephews. Ralph graduated from Parker High School. He served in the US Army for two years during the Korean War. He retired from the Law Enforcement Center as Building Manager. Outside of work he loved to travel with friends. He saw many places that we dreamed of going to. He was a devout sports fan and loved the Clemson Tigers. He loved his church, St. Mark United Methodist where he served as chairman of Trustees and as an usher and a member of the Joy class. Ralph was a 32 degree Mason and a Shriner.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12:00 noon in the Remembrance Mausoleum Chapel of Woodlawn Memorial Park.The family will receive friends before the service from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m.
