Quida Bruce Looper, born on February 11, 1939 of Pelzer, SC, loving wife of the late Glenn S. Looper, was called to meet her Lord and Savior on April 12, 2024. She was born in Chester, SC to the union of the late James Edward and Frances Elizabeth Gillespie Bruce.
She was a 1957 graduate of Palmetto High School and retired from Anderson School District 1, Williamston, SC.
Quida was a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. She and her husband, Glenn, enjoyed summer vacations to Myrtle Beach with their girls, and trips with the Church Mission Team where they shared their ministries as clowns, known as “Mr. and Mrs. Precious.” She was a den mother for Girl Scouts, taught Sunday School, Mission Friends, was a member of the choir and served on many committees, including the History Committee. Quida had her own special ministry of sending cards to her church family and friends during time of illness or bereavement.
She is survived by her daughters, Glenda Lee Looper Eller, of the home, Rhonda Elizabeth Looper (Jackeline Ramos) of New Jersey, and brother, Lamar Bruce (Linda), of Greenville, SC. She was predeceased by her baby sister, Wanda Lee, and brother, Anthony Wayne (Tony) Bruce, of Pelzer, SC.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Pelzer, SC 29669, at 1:00 pm with Rev. Jamie Crawford and Rev. Dr. Donald Padgett presiding. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 11:30 am. Internment held at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Pelzer immediately following the service with her nephew Rev. James McCoy-Bruce presiding.
