She was born on October 3, 1932 in Greenville, South Carolina to J.B. and Daisy Sherman. Peggy had the biggest heart, she accepted everyone with open arms and a warm smile. Peggy was strong willed, had a hilarious sense of humor, and was very independent! She was always on the go exercising and walking, often exceeding the limits of what one might expect a 91 year old to be able to do. She loved angels and made the best fried okra and cornbread dressing! We will remember Peggy for her kind spirit and positive attitude. She was loved by so many!
Peggy will be lovingly remembered by her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Larry Thomas, and her son and daughter-in-law, Mack and Leath Finley. She leaves behind 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Malcom Finley, her mother, father, and four sisters.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 24th at 1:00 at Ebenezer Welcome Baptist Church. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate the life of Peggy Finley.
