A native of Brevard NC, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Pansy Henderson Nicholson. She was the youngest and last to survive of her parents seven children. Patsy, as her family and friends knew her, was a quiet person but yet a very active lady. She often reminisced of her years at Brevard High enjoying all her friends, being a cheerleader and becoming Miss Brevardier 1954. Patsy had also become a successful bowler and set the women’s North Carolina state record in 1966. She later bowled in many tournaments across the country and won the Women’s Semi-Professional tournament in Portland, Oregon in 1969.
Pat enjoyed all her friends through the years. She retired from Rich’s/Macy’s and stayed in contact with her friends from work. She loved to travel. She loved Hawaii. She loved New York. She loved her family more. She loved the Lord Jesus.
Surviving are her son, Brian Thomas and daughter-in-law Kelly, one grandson Patrick Thomas and his wife Audrey; one granddaughter Anna Grace Thomas; one great-granddaughter Evelyn Grace Thomas and three foster great-grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, and those who she was able see and talk to more often are Sandy and Butch Downing of Oklahoma; Johnny Nicholson, Kelly Nicholson, great-niece Brittany Nicholson, Cindy Nicholson, of Brevard; Claudia and Charlie Ange of Tennessee, Gary and Myra Waddell of Alabama, and Linda Srayberry of Alabama.
