He was born on January 3, 1954 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Otto was a collegiate athlete, received his Doctorate in Medicine, worked as a researcher in the pharmaceutical industry, and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed traveling the world for work, experiencing different cultures, especially their cuisine. Otto’s friends and co-workers described him as having great faith and the biggest heart of anyone they ever knew. He loved singing and dancing to Polynesian music. He even sang in front of a King of Thailand while he was there during his church mission. His faith was central to who he was and he relied on the Lord for many mercies.
Otto was survived by his wife of 44 years, Amber and their 4 children Ashley, Tess, Haley and Adam. He is also survived by his 13 grandchildren, Malia, Maile, Kealani, Kiana, Kainoa, Leinani, Ella, David, Sofia, Scarlett, Sawyer, Cecilia, and Theo. Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 1301 Boiling Springs Road in Greer, SC on January 13, 2024.
