Mrs. Muriel Jester Woods

Muriel Jester Woods, 96, of Greenville, SC, died Tuesday, August 9, 2016. Born in Troy, SC, Mrs. Woods was a daughter of the late Drayton W. Jester and Pamelia Horne Jester. She was the widow of J. Mack Woods. She was a graduate of Greenville General Hospital School of Nursing class of 1941. She was appointed Director of Nursing at Shriners Hospital in 1961 until her retirement in 1973. She was a member of Greenville Memorial Hospital Alumni Association. She was also a volunteer for the Red Cross for 30 years. Mrs. Woods was a member of First Baptist Greenville and a member of the Apphia Sunday School Class. She is survived by a daughter, Pam Goldman (Walter); a son, J. Mack Woods, Jr. (Juli); 3 grandchildren, Blake Goldman (Jean), Meg Snider (Timo), and Adam Pitts; and a great-granddaughter, Morgan Goldman. The family would like to thank Interim Homecare Division, especially Angie, Irene, Molly, Janet and Melanie; as well as Interim Hospice, especially Christa and Danial. A funeral service will be held at 11am Saturday, August 13, 2016, in the Remembrance Chapel at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, or to First Baptist Greenville.
