Born in New Castle, Pennsylvania to the late Paris Alexander Shoaff II and Hazel Williams Shoaff, Mary was a remarkable individual with a diverse range of interests and a warm, welcoming personality. She liked sports, especially tennis and golf, and was an avid bridge player; she enjoyed the game immensely. Mary traveled the world and savored the opportunity to explore other countries. While home, she played beautiful music on her piano. A dedicated member of the Episcopal Church throughout her life, Mary found solace and community in her faith. She was a proud graduate of Mount Holyoke Women’s College Class of 1948. Her infectious smile and laughter could brighten anyone’s day and she cherished moments spent with loved ones, always making them feel valued. Mary’s deep connection to animals and her love for the beauty of nature, reflected her compassionate and gentle spirit, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by two beloved husbands, Richard Newcombe McKee of New Castle, PA and David Howard Bache of West Lafayette, IN, and her brother, Paris Alexander Shoaff III. She is survived by children Dana Louise McKee (Tom Stoner), Eleanor Leslie McKee, Jared Reis McKee (Lora McKee) and Douglas Newcombe McKee (Geni McKee); grandchildren Richard Newcombe McKee II, Elizabeth Reis McKee, Abigail LeGore McEwen, Liber Tomas McKee and Grace Eleanor McKee; stepchildren William McKee Bache, Molly Jane Sanford, Susan Elizabeth Brewer and Sally Ann Bache; nieces Carol Viehe, Susan Pick and Rebekah McKee; and nephew Frederick McKee.
