Martha was born February 20, 1927 in Greenville, South Carolina, a daughter of the late James Charles
and Annie Marie Hudson Phillips. She was a member of East North Street Baptist Church and the Ruth’s
Bible Class. Martha was a billing clerk for many years for Duke Power Company. She was a loving
mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Martha is survived by her son, Don Alan Garner of Greenville, South Carolina; one sister, Geraldine Crain
of Greer, South Carolina; one granddaughter, Courtney Alexander (Brian); two grandsons, Alan Garner
and Christopher Garner; and two great grandchildren, Abigail Alexander and Kensington Alexander.
In addition to her husband and parents, Martha is preceded in death by her sons, Marvin George
Garner, III of Taylors, South Carolina and R. Phillip Garner of Taylors, South Carolina.

Graveside service for Martha will be private. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in East North
Street Baptist Church Cemetery.
