Born in Greenville, SC, he was a son of the late George Marion and Geraldine McIntyre Ross. Marion worked for Greenville Country School District and Greenville Health System before his retirement, and was formerly a volunteer fire fighter for Durbin Creek Volunteer Fire Department. He loved bowling, and was the President of the Upstate USBC Association (United States Bowling Congress), and Center Youth Director at Wade Hampton Lanes. He also was a director of The Southeast Bowling Association, The South Carolina Bowling Association, and Executive Director of the Youth Committee.
Surviving in addition to his wife are six children, Thomas Ross (Ashley Davenport), Renee Ross, Bryan Ross, Robbie Alexander, Terrell Anderson, and Anastasiya Gunnells; two brothers, George Dudley Ross (Amanda) and Maurice Gerald Parker; and six grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Marshall Dale Parker; and two sisters, Gerogie Anne Brown and Diane Shirley Wynn.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 28, 2021 from 11:30am until 1:15pm at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Century Drive with a funeral service to follow at 1:30pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow the service at Greenville Memorial Gardens. Social distancing will be practiced and masks worn at all services.
