Margaret "Billie" Inman Robertson

On Wednesday, April 14th, 2021, Margaret “Billie” Robertson, loving wife, and mother of three children, passed away at the age of 99. Margaret was born on December 14th, 1921 in Greenville, SC to Essie and Margaret Inman. She was a homemaker and big influence in her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren’s lives.

She married Mercer Brissey and they raised a son Ike, and two daughters Dianne and Pat. After the passing of Mercer, the Greenville county coroner of that time, she then married Ralph Robertson.

Most people knew Margaret as Billie, she earned this nickname in her childhood due to tomboy outdoor play, and her father’s quip of “Billiebowlegs” as she ran up the driveway. She was known for her loving support, her soft smile, and kind and compassionate heart. She loved to watch and listen to birds sing. Strongest of all was her Faith in God, never shaken even while outliving her husbands, siblings, and all of her children.

Margaret was preceded by Husbands, Mercer Brissey, and Ralph Robertson. Her Parents Essie and Margaret Inman, her sisters: Caroline, Mary, Essie Pearl, Sarah, and her brother, Schiffley, Her children: Ike Brissey (Diane), Dianne Brissey, and Pat Lollis (Randy).

She is survived by her four grandchildren: Ryan Brissey, Loren Lollis Anniss (William), Keri Catherine Brissey, Sarah Elizabeth Brissey, and her greatgrandchildren: Bailey Mitchell (Tyler), Bryce Hawkins, and Amelia Bosworth.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, April 22nd, 2021 at the Brushy Creek Baptist Church, 4999 Old Spartanburg Rd, Taylors, SC 29687. Visitation to follow directly after the service.
