Born in Columbia, South Carolina, he was the son of Ruby Jenkins of Greer.
Ray is survived by his mother, step-father, Charles Jenkins, a son, Holden Hoose, two sisters, Shelby Reynolds and McKenzie Scott, grandmother, Mitsuko Crooks, aunts, niece and nephew, and cousins, as well as an extended family.
Ray loved his family and friends. He loved his Civic. As per many post on Facebook, “Ray lit up everyone who he came in contact with. He would have given the shirt off his back and the last dollar he had to his name to a complete stranger.” He was a unique, intelligent, loving soul who will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Louis Ray Crooks.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
A private Memorial Service will be held for Ray at a later date.
