Juanita Jean Learn, 92, of Greenville, SC, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 24, 2025. Juanita was born in Commodore, PA, in 1932, the oldest of eight children to the late Paul and Emma Learn.
After graduating from high school, Juanita worked as a secretary in Erie, PA, for several years before she came to know the Lord as her Savior through the witness of friends.
When she learned about Bob Jones University, the Lord led Juanita to attend. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in office administration. For the next 49 years, Juanita worked as an administrative assistant at BJU in the Dean of Women’s office, the Fine Arts department, and the executive offices, including being assistant to the president, chancellor, and board of trustees. She retired in 2007.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, her half-sister, Wyla Stiffler, and three siblings: John Learn, Steele Learn, and Barbara Byers; she is survived by Dwight Learn, Vivian Livingston, Doris Shaffer, and Lois Buchanan, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at Faith Baptist Church, 500 West Lee Road, Taylors, SC, on Monday, March 3, at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bob Jones University or Hidden Treasure Christian School.
