He was the son of the late Joseph Ollie Smith, Sr. and Lois Garrett Smith. Joe was born in Brownsville, TN. He served proudly in the Navy and a longtime member of Taylors First Baptist. He retired from Industrial Battery & Charger, Inc.
Surviving are sons: Randy Smith (Christy) and Ronnie Smith (Kayla); sister, Ann Gipson; brother, Phillip Smith (Janice);grandchildren: Neely Renee Smith, Jordan Eric Smith, Alfred Russell Smith and Maverick Reid Smith. In addition he is survived by a numerous of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Renee Smith; sister, Mary Elizabeth Watson and Estelle Franklin; brothers: Buster Smith, William Smith and Garrett Smith.
A funeral service will be held at Mackey at Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 12:00 PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
