Joseph "Joe" Lee Allen Sr.

Joe and his wife Jo Ann Martin Allen were married on June 24, 1966 and were married for almost 55 years. He was a devoted member of Heritage Bible Church, serving as deacon for six years.

Joseph worked for 47 years on the library staff of Mack Library on the campus of Bob Jones University and served as the Library Director for 27 of those years.

His service to the community included 31 years in various positions for the Troop 519 and Pack 19 for Bob Jones University, 16 years on the Constitution, By-Laws and Handbook Committee for the South Carolina Library Association and 12 years on the Board of Trustees of Greenville County Library.

He is survived by his children: Joey Allen (Susan), Jonathan Allen and Jeannie Allen; grandchildren: Cayce Anne Collins (Carter), Emma June Allen, Jo Jo Allen and Heather Faith Allen. He is predeceased by his wife, parents and his sister Marcia Allen Boerner.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, June 6, 2022 at Heritage Bible Church, Greer, SC followed by a burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends before the service from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bob Jones University or Heritage Bible Church, Greer, SC.
