Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Waymon Price and Pearl Louise Jones Wood. John worked for Daniel Construction and Fluor Daniel before starting his own business, GreenWood Inc. He was known for his magnetic friendly smile, and enjoyed collecting classic cars and clocks, playing golf, and traveling. Music was also important to him, as he grew up playing the piano and organ for his church and was a dedicated member of Trinity Lutheran Church since the 70’s.
Surviving are his children, Kelly Wood of Pasadena, CA, Laura Lipscomb (Todd) of Roebuck, SC, and Nathan Wood (Cara) of Anderson, SC; a daughter-in-law, Leigh Wood, of Simpsonville, SC; one brother, Thomas Waymon Wood of Easley, SC; and six grandchildren, Kayla, Abbie, Alison, John, Lyndsay, and Chloe.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Bradley Price Wood.
There will be a private family service.
