John B. Fowler, Jr., 92, of Greenville, SC, passed away on January 24, 2017 as a result of complications from a fall. He was the son of the late John Boyce Fowler, Sr. and Sallie Hooper Fowler. He was married to the late Alma Willene Turner Fowler for 58 years, and he served proudly in the United States Coast Guard from 1942-1946. He was an engineer at General Electric for over 16 years, and in his spare time, he loved woodworking and learning various trades and hobbies at Greenville Technical College.
He is survived by his children, Ken Atkins (Earline), Janis Kinard (Dennis), and Jean Templeton; his grandchildren, Jamie Atkins, Rocky Barbrey, and Stephanie Tucker; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is predeceased by his sisters, Mary Howard and Grace Gray, and a nephew, Ron Howard.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 28th, at 2:00 pm at The Mackey Mortuary. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00-1:45 pm, and an entombment will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
