It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of James “Jim” Paul Hicks, a beloved husband, father, and friend, who left us on August 9, 2024 at the age of 77.
Jim lived a life filled with adventure. An avid hunter and fisherman, he spent countless hours in the great outdoors, finding joy in nature and the thrill of the chase. Jim’s enthusiasm for hunting and fishing was more than just a pastime—it was a way of life. His presence in the woods and on the water was a testament to his deep connection with nature.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jane, daughter Lisa Hamon (Antony), and granddaughter Jordan Bowers (Chase), brother-in-law William Clyburn (Rita) and sister-in-law Debbie Hoffman (Glen). Jim was preceded in death by his father and mother Paul and Annie Hicks.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 24, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations Century Dr., 311 Century Dr. Greenville, SC 29607. All who knew Jim are invited to join in honoring a man who loved the outdoors.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to National Wild Turkey Federation or a local animal shelter.
