Married as teens, James and Betty made a simple, but happy home raising four children. Tough times came, along with happy ones, but James was certainly filled with a resilient spirit and believed hard days would pass and happy times would return.
Self-employed, James made a living dealing with scrap metals. He then worked an easier and well-deserved job driving a dump truck until his retirement at age 75.
He is survived by his daughter, Lorraine Adams Renkovish (Steve); two sons, Jerry Adams (Karen) and Jack Adams (Sharon); grandchildren, Jeremy, Adam, Jonathan, Ashley, Zachary and Olivia; and five great-granddaughters.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his son, James Harold Adams, Jr., siblings, A.P., Helen, Fred Jr., Bertie, Alvin and Dewey, and grandson, Stephen Wayne Renkovish, Jr.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, October 27,2024 at The Mackey Mortuary at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm. Internment will take place immediately following the funeral at Graceland Cemetery West.
James loved the Lord, and we are assured that he is with the Lord and enjoying a grand reunion.
