Ivy Rayne Stowe, 10 years old, of Taylors, died unexpectedly at Greenville Memorial Hospital on Friday, January 12th, 2024. She attended Kindergarten and Elementary School at Taylors Elementary School, in Taylors, South Carolina. She was in Mrs. Richard’s 4th Grade Class.
Ivy was full of life and love for her family and classmates. She received the “Kindness Award” at Taylors Elementary for the loving kindness she showered on her classmates and everyone she met. This coming week, she was to receive the “Terrific Kid Award” at school, a fact that was no surprise to all who knew her. She was an energetic participant in Karate at the Hurricane Martial Arts school. She loved to express her creativity and flair at the Vino and Van Gogh Summer Art Camp for Kids. She was the same age as Tayvah, her black Labrador retriever, who was her near constant companion. She had too many good friends to list here, but she was particularly grateful for some close friends who were like family – Maddie, Colton, Ryann, and Connor. She was also deeply grateful to her Aunt Savannah and Uncle Taylor, who were like her second set of parents.
She is survived by her mother, Hailey Ann Smith (Joseph Webb) of Anderson, SC, and her father, Michael Brandon Stowe of Kerrville, Texas, and her half-sisters Matti Lynn and Trinity Skye Stowe of Hartwell, GA. She is also survived by her aunt, Savannah Padilla McClure (Taylor) of Taylors, SC. She was the granddaughter of the late John Mark Smith and Frances Kelli Hall Smith (John Siver) of Greenville, SC. She was the great-grand-daughter of the late John M. and Shirley Ann Grant Smith of Taylors, SC, and also of Mary Frances Coleman, also of Taylors, SC. She was also beloved by a host of aunts, uncles and cousins throughout her family and she will be deeply missed.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 17th at 2:00 PM at the Mackey Mortuary on Century Drive in Greenville, South Carolina. Interment will be private with the family.
