Hoyle Afton Dixon, passed peacefully on August 13, 2016 in his 98th year. Hoyle was born April 17, 1918 in Walnut Grove, MO to the late Fenton and Ellen Dixon. He graduated from Walnut Grove High School, where he met and married his wife of 75 years, Nora. She preceded him in death in January of this year. Hoyle served in the Army Air Force for three years, stationed in Alaska during World War II.
Prior to relocating to South Carolina they made their home in Coalinga, CA for 68 years. Hoyle worked for Union Oil Co. with 30 years of service. He was a very active volunteer in the Senior Center, Meals on Wheels, and member of Grace Chapel Church.
Surviving are his daughters, Janet Stevens (Bob), of Greer; and Jean Bender (Richard) of Marana, AZ; a granddaughter, Jayme Burns (Bob), of Knoxville, TN; two great grandchildren, Maddy and Charlie.
Funeral service, Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of The Mackey Mortuary with a reception following. Private burial in Graceland East Memorial Park.
