He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Lena, and was the last surviving sibling of his parents, Homer, Sr. and Frances Farr of Greenville. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also predeceased by his son Mike Harrison, his sister Marian Austin, brother Jack Farr and son-in-law, Dr. Jack Bozard.
He is survived by his daughters, Linda Gillespie of Easley and Bidney Bozard of Columbia; son, Andy Farr (Karen) of Greer; and grandchildren, Samuel Gillespie (Easley), Drew Bozard (Kristen) and Jay Bozard (Shannon) of Columbia, and Nick Farr (Jill), Katie Hardman (Jason) and Kayla Bell (Justin) of Greer. He also leaves behind 10 great-grandchildren of whom he was so proud of and loved dearly.
He was a member of Taylors First Baptist Church for 69 years. He loved woodworking, cheering on the Clemson Tigers and was a lifelong NY Yankees fan.
Homer lived a full, healthy, and independent life until his health began to decline several months ago.
The family would like to thank Rolling Green Rehab, Windsor House Assisted Living and VIA Hospice for their care during his time of need.
A funeral for Homer will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025 at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials on behalf of Homer may be made to Taylors First Baptist Church Missions, 200 W. Main St., Taylors, SC 29687.
