Harry “Kelly” Ward Simpsonville Harry Keller “Kelly” Ward, 73, husband of Rebecca S. Ward, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 2, 2015. Kelly was a Christian and attended Brookwood Community Church until his failing illness. Kelly was born on March 25, 1942 in Indianapolis, IN, to the late Dean Keller and Jean Rosanne Hadley Ward, but moved to Lake Worth, FL as a young teenager where he quickly made friends and excelled in many sports. He was an outstanding basketball player at Lake Worth High School and Chipola Jr. College, setting many school records. He graduated from Arkansas A&M with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. Kelly loved sports his entire life and coached little league baseball, football and was an avid golfer. He retired from Flour Corporation after thirty years of service in procurement management. Kelly had been blessed with many friends that enriched his life as well as his beloved companions, his boxer dogs over the years, Jackson especially and his current dogs, Hailey and DeJa. In addition to his loving wife of thirty-three years, he is survived by a son, Kevin W. Ward and his wife Ami; a brother, Gary Ward of Lake Worth, FL; two grandchildren, Logan and Lauren Ward of Greer; an Aunt, Marie Ward Rogers of Cincinnati, OH; his loving step-mother, Mona G. Ward; two brother’s-in-law, Richard Frederich of Lake Worth, FL and Dr. Peter A. Gray; and three nephews, Jason and Todd Frederich as well as Ryan A. Gray and his wife Melissa. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Robert K. Ward; and his sister, Jan Ward Frederich. Graveside services will be 3:30 PM Thursday, May 7, 2015 in Graceland East Cemetery, Simpsonville.
