Grace Ashe McSween

Born May 10, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Jane Atkinson Ashe and John Luther Ashe of Rock Hill, SC.

Mrs. McSween was a graduate of Rock Hill High School and of Winthrop College. She was voted May Queen at Winthrop in 1943. She was a member of Fourth Presbyterian Church in Greenville, and the Jr. League of Greenville through which she was involved in numerous community volunteer activities.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, William C. McSween, and an infant daughter. She is survived by her daughter, Jane McSween Jameson, and son-in-law, David Ross Jameson of Chapin, SC, and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 2:00PM in the chapel of the Foothills Presbyterian Community in Easley. Dr. Allen McSween, Jr., nephew of the deceased, will officiate assisted by Dr. Joseph Gaston, Chaplain of the Foothills Community. The family will receive friends and family following the service in the lobby area of the Foothills Community. A private burial will be held for the family.

The family sends heartfelt thanks for the love and support of Mrs. McSween’s many friends, the staff of the Foothills Presbyterian Community, and the staff of Interim Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the McSween Scholarship Fund at Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC, or to the Chapel Fund of the Foothills Presbyterian Community.
