Gloria was born in Greenville SC on November 14, 1933 to Clara Thompson King and Roy Landreth King.
Gloria is survived by; son Novie Paris Cleveland III (Sheila); daughter Lisa Nancy Cleveland Sutton (Rusty); daughter Gloria Jamie McAllister; and son James (Jimmy) Arthur McAllister III (Kim); brother Roy King (Lanny), brother Mike King, brother John (David) King and sister Melva Blackmon.
Also surviving Gloria are; eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 13 great great grand children.
Gloria was preceded in death by; father Roy Landreth King and mother Clara Thompson King; brother Robert (Bob) King; sister Jean King and sister Ann Brothers.
Gloria went to Edmunds High School and Grace Baptist Church in Sumter SC during her early years of life.
Gloria loved her children, grand children, great grandchildren, great great grand children and family with all her heart.
Gloria was a strong woman with self determination. She was set in her ways with a kind and caring soul to all as she moved in life to the beat of her own drum.
In her younger years, Gloria worked as a color technician for a photographer in Sumter SC and later for Arthur Murray Dance Studio as a receptionist and dance instructor. Later in life, she bought and sold antiques. Gloria was an exceptional artist and loved her gardening.
Gloria loved the following poem and passed it on to her family;
"I shall pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again." (EX LIBRIS)
A Funeral Service for Gloria will be at 3:00 PM On Tuesday May 26, 2020 in The Chapel at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. Burial will follow the funeral service in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
