She was a 1942 graduate of Parker High School. Evelyn was employed as an administrative assistant at Hudson’s Photography Studio for many years. She was a devoted member of West Gantt Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. Also, she was an avid gardener, talented ceramic artist and dearly loved her family, especially her granddaughters and great-granddaughter. She supported and encouraged her sons’ careers in the music industry and always enjoyed their talents.
Surviving are her sons, James Stephen Watson and wife, Susan Perrin Watson of Greenville; David Andrew Watson and wife, Rebecca Surasky Watson of Ridgewood, New Jersey; granddaughters, Anna Carre’ Watson Hunter (Robert Clarke Hunter), Mary Neill Watson, and Jacqueline Claire Watson; great-granddaughter, Perrin Elizabeth Hunter; and sister, Lois Hannon Bridges.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband James Henry Watson, and sister, Frances Hannon Barnes.
Funeral service 2 pm, Saturday, May 21, 2016 at West Gantt Baptist Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 12:30 pm. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
