Beth had a fulfilling life as a wife, mother, grandmother and friend. As a Master Gardener and a member of Hessie Morrah and Heritage Garden Clubs, her passion was gardening. Not only did she spend numerous hours in her own garden, she also helped friends with their beautiful gardens. She was a long time member of Christ Church Episcopal. In 2012 she was asked to head a committee to study the 13 acre campus of Christ Church and to devise a plan for the restoration of the gardens and grounds in anticipation of the church’s 200th Anniversary in 2020. She was instrumental in creating the church’s sponsored Joyful Garden Tour; a semiannual tour of “city gardens” that helps to create awareness of the beauty of gardening, as well as to raise funds for the ongoing church grounds restoration. This event has proven to be a wonderful ministry for the church and a means by which the church has restored the grounds. This effort has resulted in the planting of over 70 new canopy trees to its campus. Beth had recently taken up painting and had made great strides to becoming a real talent.
The family would like to especially thank Frances Oliver for her care and attention to Beth in her last weeks.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00pm on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at The Mackey Mortuary. A funeral service will be held at Christ Church Episcopal at 2:00pm on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 with a reception to follow the service in the church Parish Hal
