his wife and children.
Son of the late Eugene and Evelyn (Ross) Durham, Doug was born in Greenville, SC on
September 27, 1953.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jan Bailey Durham of Taylors; a sister, Laura Durham
Chapman of Mauldin; his mother-in-law, Peggy Wilson Bailey of Greenville; two sons, Ross
Durham (Laura) of Taylors and Will Durham (Carly) of Greer; a daughter, Katie Beth Knight
(Reeves) of Anderson; and seven wonderful grandchildren: Reece and Camden Durham;

Doug and Jan were high school sweethearts and were married for 47 years. He was dedicated
to his family and loved spending time with them whether it was boating on the lake, sharing a
meal in family homes, or at a Clemson football game where he had the same seats in Death
Valley for 45 years. Doug was a gifted custom home builder for 30 years and built beautiful
homes for many families throughout the upstate. He will be remembered for his faith in Jesus,
his commitment to caring for his family, and his generosity, integrity, and kindness to all he met.
The Durham family would like to thank the compassionate nurses of Pruitt Health Hospice who
cared for “Mr. D” so wonderfully in his final days on earth.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will have a private graveside service later this week
and will announce a celebration of life gathering at a later date.
Donations can be made in Doug’s honor to NewSpring Church (Greenville Campus) or Pruitt
Health Hospice - Greenville.
