Donna lived in Long Island, NY until age 16. At the passing of her father, she and her mother moved to Lake Worth, FL. Donna graduated from Lake Worth High School, then continued her education at Lake Worth Community College. She began her working career in 1968 with Southern Bell in Florida, retiring 28 years later from BellSouth in Greenville, SC.
Donna was an active member of Washington Baptist Church. She loved her church, its members, its programs and bible study, and especially the Hanging of the Greens. At home, her deck and screened porch was her place to escape and enjoy what GOD had given her. She loved bird watching, growing flowers and plants. She was a dedicated Christian, Mother, Wife and Friend. Throughout her life she was active in fund raising activities for such charities as, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Humane Society, Toys for Tots, Wounded Warriors Family Support, and several others. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, attending cruise-ins, dancing, and traveling. This world will be a sadder place without her.
Donna is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Richard Bagwell; son Scott Bagwell and wife Kim; two grandsons, Logan and Evan Bagwell; sister-in-law Pam Free and husband Greg; sister-in-law Cadie Joyner Bagwell; sister Francis Scheff, nephew William Scheff and wife Megan; nephew Scott Scheff; and numerous great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Donna was predeceased by her son, Clayton R. Bagwell, and brother, Louis A. Schuster, Jr.
A private graveside service will be held on July 29. A celebration of life service for all family and friends will be held at Washington Baptist Church, 3500 N. Hwy 14, Greer, SC, on Sunday, August 1, at 3pm.
