Donald was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati a distinguished employee with 35 years of service to The Norton Company.
In addition and proudly, Donald volunteered his service as a Fire Fighter for over 30 years to the community of Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Two of his proudest achievements were to be the Fire Chief of Deer Park Fire Company and being elected as Fire Commissioner for Cherry Hill NJ.
Most importantly and what Donald considered his PROUDEST achievement was his being a loving husband for 57 years to the light of his life, Patricia Dietz. As well as being the leader of his family in which he loved dearly.
Donald is survived by his wife, Patricia Dietz; son Doug Dietz (Kellie); and daughter Kathy Batson (Robert); grandchildren; Ryan and Eric Dietz, Kaitlyn Shaw (Joshua), and Matthew Beringer (Sunny Whitfield); and great grandchildren McKenzie and Mason Shaw.
Donald was preceded in death by; father Norbert Dietz and mother Mildred Dietz; brother Nord Dietz.
A visitation for Donald will be held Sunday, May 13, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. A funeral service will occur Monday, May 14, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Earle Street Baptist Church, 225 W. Earle St., Greenville, SC 29609. A burial will occur Monday, May 14, 2018 following services at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Dr, Greenville, South Carolina 29609.
Serving as pallbearers are Matthew Beringer, Joshua Shaw, Ryan Dietz and Eric Dietz.
