Born in East Enterprise, Indiana on July 2, 1935, he was the son of the late Park and Pearl Cole Byram.
Don graduated from Vevay High School in 1953. Upon graduating from school, Don entered the Air Force eventually becoming stationed at Walker Air Force Base in Roswell, NM where he met and married Beverly Joyce Byram, his wife of 56 years. Don worked for Indiana and Michigan Electric Company and Cincinnati Incorporated where he eventually retired as a computer operator. Known for his big heart, smile and happy personality, he was the first to lend a hand to anyone who asked.
Donald was very involved with his two children, David and Lisa and their spouses Kimberly and Rodney, his 5 grandchildren, Ryan, Nicole, Kristin, Katie Beth and Jonathan and 4 great-grandchildren, Bailee, Lanier, Bennett and Olivia. He spent much of his free time serving the churches where he and Beverly were members.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Joyce Ford Byram, his brother Gailen Byram and his sisters Lois Ackerman and Diane Byram.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00pm followed immediately by a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, April 9, 2016 in the chapel at Taylors First Baptist Church located at 200 Main Street, Taylors, SC 29687.
