He was very proud to have served in the U.S. Army and was a lifelong member of the Hejaz Shriners of Upstate South Carolina.
He was a member of the Unity Baptist Church in Simpsonville.
He is survived by two sons: Daniel Ray Vess Jr. and his wife Angie and Ronald Scott Vess his wife Shannon; four grandchildren: Desirae, Christian, Tanner and Morgan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers: Ricky Vess and William Howard “Bill” Vess Jr. and his sister, Barbara Young and her husband, George.
A visitation for Daniel will be held Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609 followed by a celebration of life 12:00 PM. A committal service will occur at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Wade Hampton
A reception will occur Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Unity Baptist Church, 1000 Fairview Rd, Simpsonville, SC 29680.
