Charles Russell Davis passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 1, 2023 at the age of 82.
Russell was a Veteran of the US Navy. He spent most of his adult life as Maintenance Supervisor at Union Carbide and Kemet Electronics in Simpsonville and Fountain Inn. Russell was able to retire early and dedicate his life to volunteering with his favorite causes. He was active in Missions at Fork Shoals Baptist Church and volunteered in multiple capacities in the church. He volunteered with The Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity and helped found and served with the Canebrake Fire Department. Russell was a skilled bowler and was an avid fisherman and golfer.
He is survived by his wife, Rita and son Jeff and his wife Nadine. He is also survived by sisters Betty Fennell and Ruth Davis-Moore and brothers Jesse Wright Davis and William Gamewell Davis.
A visitation for Charles will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Fork Shoals Baptist Church, 110 Fork Shoals Church Rd, Pelzer, SC 29669, with a funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm. A committal service will follow at Fork Shoals Baptist Church cemetery.
