Born in Detroit to the late Charles Victor Booth, Jr. and Mary Ellen Gallarno, Chuck graduated from Detroit Country Day School in 1967. In 1972, Chuck graduated from Hillsdale College in Michigan, where he earned a major letter in tennis, and was a member of Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. After a successful and enjoyable career with Michelin, Chuck retired in 2011 after 32 years of service. Chuck loved being part of the Michelin family, and traveling all over the world in support of it.
Chuck also loved being outdoors and was extremely active. He participated in several sports, including golf, tennis, and waterskiing. Even while battling Alzheimer’s, tennis was Chuck’s greatest passion, and he continued to play with the help of exceptional friends at Sportsclub of Greenville. His family would like to thank Sportsclub and its members for their continued support throughout his condition.
Chuck is survived by his sister, Wendy Boyd, and her family, as well as by his uncle and aunt, Mac and Frances Booth, and four cousins: David (and Delia), Molly (and Dan), Charlotte (and Mike), and Thomas.
Family and friends will meet on Sunday, June 11 at 6:00 pm in the Gardens at Brookdale to remember and celebrate Chuck.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in Chuck’s memory at Brookdale towards Alzheimer’s research.
Arrangements under the direction of Mackey Mortuary, GREENVILLE, SC.
