Born in Charlotte NC, she attended Limestone College where she met Bill, the love of her life. They were married and moved to Greenville where she started her career in Education where her influences would be many. As an avid artist in her spare time and lover of animals and nature, she left many with examples of her talent as gifts and her annual hand painted Christmas Cards. She and Bill raised a son and a daughter in what can only be described as a loving and fun environment. Carolyn’s positive influence as an educator is evident as indicated by many past students who have have taken career paths in the field of Biology. Additionally, many of her students have called and visited over the past few years and many attended her Birthday celebrations. Her friends were many and long term. She just had that kind of affection that made anyone smile and feel cared about.
She is survived by her daughter and grandson, Michelle Brunner and Quinn “Borders”, her son and his children Chris Borders, Capers Borders and Lily Borders. She is also survived by her “extended” family of dear neighbors, caregivers Jessica and Markesha, students of Carolina High school, classmates of Limestone College, fellow artist of Greenville, the one she called “sweet thing”, and the many long term friends that were all so dear to her.
Carolyn is predeceased by her husband, William F. Borders; Parents Roselle and Harold Huguley and sister Peggy Rose.
