Billy Glenn Chambers

Billy Glenn Chambers, 83 of Greenville, SC passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2014. Born in Ft. Payne, Alabama, he was the son of the late James W. and Louis K. Ridgeway Chambers. He served in the US Army as a Quarter Master and during the Korean War, attended The Church of the Nazarene and was a Mason with the Taylors' Lodge. Billy retired from Winn-Dixie where he was an auto/diesel Mechanic for 35 years. He is survived by his wife: Betty Elkes Chambers, three children: Tawana L. Caldwell (David), Renee C. Lindsay (Charles), and Billy G. Chambers, Jr. (Dana); five grandchildren: Ginger Owens, Robert Burnett, Drew Chambers, Hunter Chambers, and Conner Chambers; four great-grandchildren: Courtney Owens, Brent Burnett, Logan Burnett, and Elizabeth Chambers; a brother: Jimmy Chambers and a sister: Barbara Culbertson. Billy was predeceased by two brothers: Mickey and Willard Chambers. Visitation will be Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 1:00 - 2:45 pm at Mackey Mortuary followed by the funeral at 3:00pm and burial in Graceland East Cemetery.
