Barbara Rose Ungar, beloved wife of 59 years to Fred C. Ungar, passed peacefully on April 24, 2015 at Levine and Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC, in her 82nd year. She was born in St. Louis, MO, to the late Martin Thal and Bernice Bressler Thal. Barbara graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a Master's Degree in physical education. Her professional life was dedicated to the students of Cherry Creek School District in Greenwood Village, CO, where she taught health education. She was of the Jewish Faith. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are sons, Michael Ungar (Mindy) of Simpsonville and James Ungar (Laurie) of Bonita Springs, FL; daughters, Betty Simon (Larry) of New York City, NY, and Cheryl Martin (Michael) of Highlands Ranch, CO; grandchildren, Matthew Ungar, Melissa Ungar (Cameron Broom), Justin Ungar (Cecilia Garcia) and Jonathan Ungar. Graveside service 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Beth Israel Cemetery, Greenville, with Rabbi Julie Kozlow officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations to the "The Wedding Pink," Barbara's daughters non-profit that helps breast cancer survivors (www.weddingpink.org).
