She was born in Greenville SC on January 31, 1923. She was a 1940 graduate of Greenville High School. She attended college at Furman and Appalachian State University. Her Furman yearbook quote was that she was an intelligent brunette who planned to teach music and piano after graduation.
She did teach Air Force personnel who were deployed overseas in Libya, Morocco and Germany and at Quantico VA.. She was a life master at duplicate Bridge.
She was predeceased by her parents Mortimer R Sams Jr and Lola B Sams. She was also widowed to Edward Lowell Anderson after 37 years of marriage. She is survived by her sister, Mary Francis Windham of Spartanburg, as well as her brother Mortimer R Sams of Easley.
She and her husband resided in Mansfield and Indiana PA before moving to Spartanburg in the 1970s. She was a bright and charming soul who loved her family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville SC on Friday, December 30, 2022 at 3pm.
