Alice was born in Henderson County, North Carolina, to the late Peter Jones Howard and Ollie Mae Bridgeman Howard.
Alice was predeceased by her brothers; John H. Howard, James Grady Howard and Floyd B. Howard and her sisters; Ola Mae Howard Forrest and Josephine Howard Forrest.
Alice is survived by her daughters; Brenda (Joseph) Carter, of Charleston, S.C., Linda (Doug) Rainey of Greenville, S.C. and Janet (Andrew) Coleman of Knoxville, TN. Also surviving Alice are 3 grandchildren; Kelly Troyer of Charleston, S.C., Brian D. (Lori) Rainey of Greer S.C., Scott D. (Gina) Payne of Knoxville, TN. and 8 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.
In her younger years, Alice worked for numerous entities. Her passion, however, was serving others and she worked as a caregiver for the latter part of her working life. All who knew her loved her and her wonderful personality and wit.
Due to COVID restrictions, there will not be a visitation and the graveside service will be private.
Alice's family would like to extend their gratitude to their friends and family for their prayers, love, and support. A special thanks to the staff and employees at Greenville Post Acute Care and the physicians nurses and staff at St. Francis Hospital and Regency SouthernCare Hospice-Greenville for their excellent care.
