Alan Timothy Garrett passed away on December 25, 2016. He was born in Spartanburg, SC, to William W. Garrett and Doris Garrett. He was a graduate of Paul M. Dorman High School, Class of 1973. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served and retired after 21 years. While in the military, he attended Troy University and graduated with a Computer Science degree.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Cody Garrett, of the home; 3 daughters, Christina Burke (Matthew), Melissa Ruff (Matt), and Emily Wolf (David); 6 grandchildren, Kira Burke, Kylie Burke, Kamryn Burke, Emma Ruff, Colton Ruff, and Weston Wolf; and 3 sisters, Lynn Simmons, Donna Butler, and Julie Mayes.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Greenville Health System Cancer Institute or Greater Union Youth Camp. Services will be held at the Chapel at Woodlawn Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Steve Stroup officiating. Burial is to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be today, Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Woodlawn-fh.com
