Patricia W Haines

Haines, Patricia W., was born September 14, 1930 the daughter of the late George and Marion (Tracy) Wilson and in Bronxville, New York. She graduated from Baldwin High School in Baldwin, New York. She attended Western University (now part of Miami University) in Oxford, Ohio. She met her husband Roy Haines, at Western on blind date. They were pinned in six weeks. They were married on August 5, 1950 in Baldwin, New York. She is survived by son Richard (Diane), daughter Tracy, son Robert, grandchildren Justin (Sarah), Caitlin (Kirk) Shellhouse, Molly (Heath) Miller, great grandchildren Claire Haines and Lillian Haines.

Pat worked at the Greenville Library on the Bookmobile for several years and later served on the Library board for several years. She graduated with her Associates Degree in Accounting from Edison State Community College in June 1976. The same day her oldest graduated from Miami University. She then worked for Steve Litchfield at Edward Jones for several years.

After she retired she took up painting and entered several painting in The Great Darke County Fair over the years. She was a patron of the arts and received the William L Combs Patron on the Arts Award in 2002.

Pat was an avid reader and bridge player and played until age 92. She was a member of a bridge group that played every Tuesday and Thursday at Montage. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, especially the New York Times crossword puzzles and did them in pen. Pat also loved to travel and visited many countries. She especially loved to travel with family for each grandchild’s high school graduation.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents and husband Roy.

A Private Graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens Greenville, Ohio. Pat’s family will receive friends on Wednesday January 10, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Memorial Contributions be made to EverHeart Hospice 1350 North Broadway Greenville, Ohio, 45331.
