Lucy was born August 6, 1915, in Darke County to the late Russell & Dana (Myers) Floyd. In addition to her parents, Lucy was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Ed” Wolfe on March 1, 1994, whom she married March 12, 1938; grandson, David A. Wolfe; and a brother, James Floyd.
Lucy is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Tim & Evelyn Wolfe of Greenville; daughter & son-in-law, Rebecca & Gary Faircloth of Greenville; grandchildren, Marla Wolfe, Aaron & Amanda Wolfe, Ben & Amanda Frietsch, Sarah & Aaron Frietsch-Simowitz, Elizabeth Collings, Dennis & Markita Faircloth and Freddie & Lisa Whetstone; 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Betty George of Hamilton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lucy was a 1932 graduate of Gettysburg High School. Lucy retired from Merkle Pharmacy in Dayton with over 20 years of service. Lucy volunteered a lot of her time to State of the Heart Care, St. Jude Hospice in Florida, Wayne HealthCare Auxiliary and several others. Lucy was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Greenville, a co-member of First Presbyterian Church of Titusville, Florida and the Order of Eastern Star in Englewood.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at the First Presbyterian Church 114 East 4th St. Greenville with Rev. Dr. John Person officiating. Burial will follow in Gettysburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville and Sunday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to State of the Heart Hospice or Darke County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
