Kenneth J. (Pete) Green, loving husband and father, fell asleep in death on September 28, 2022. He fought a long, hard battle with kidney failure but remained positive and never complained to the end.
Pete loved doing things for people and encouraging them, even as he was having his own difficult challenges. He was born November 27, 1948 in Union City, Ohio. He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on March 1, 1969 and served faithfully as an elder for many years. He enjoyed serving with his body of elders and dearly loved them.
Pete shared his faith regularly over the years. Even while he was in the hospital, Pete shared the Bible’s hope of the wonderful future when the earth will become a paradise where there will be no more suffering and pain. He so looked forward to the time he would see his dear wife Leanna (Besecker) whom he married June 13, 1970 and children Rachel (Bruce) Krauth and Jessica Green in perfect health.
He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth & Beatrice (Teeter) Green Sr., Brother Gary Allen Green and father & mother-in-law Kenneth R. & Ella C. (Wade) Besecker.
Pete was a local businessman for over 40 years, having owned Green’s Appraisal. Prior to that, he built and operated Union Mobile Home Sales with his dad Kenneth Green Sr. They also owned and operated Green’s Appliance Center in Union City.
A Private Graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Gettysburg Cemetery Gettysburg, Ohio.
An online Memorial Service via Zoom (Meeting ID: 835 2603 2077 Passcode: green2022) will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday October 8, 2022 with David Contillo officiating.
It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to Jehovah’s Witnesses Watchtower Bible & Tract Society @ JW.ORG
