So long ago, I had the privilege to serve children in the Columbus Public Schools!  1970 to be exact!  Best Boss ever with Doris White!  New Speech therapist, taken under her incredible wing!  Always grateful for her mentorship!

Doris was a loyal family friend, with a wonderful sense of style and fun. I knew her through my aunt. Cheers to Doris' long and full life. 

My name is Jessie Lyles.  Doris was my supervisor for 31 of the 32 years that I worked as a Speech/Language Pathologist for the Columbus Public Schools.  Doris was one class act!! She was smart, witty, as you well know, impeccably articulate, and, to those who worked for her, extraordinarily supportive!  She protected each of us as a mother bird protects each of her fledglings.  And because if that outstanding attribute, she deserved and received, our loyalty and affection.  It was an honor and a privilege to have known her.  To her family; I hope you’ll smile whenever you think of Doris…I know that I will.  May the Creator of all things grant you peace.

Doris and I worked together for a number of years at Columbus Public Schools.  I always loved to hear her comments at staff meetings and admired her impeccable and professional attire!  She was a true presence!  May she rest now in peace!

Doris White was amazing! She hired me in 1983 and I can still hear her heals on the wood floors in our office. Rest in peace and thank you for always being wonderful! Truly the Best!

I met Doris several times after her retirement from CCS. She was always sweet and encouraging.  I heard so many great stories about her and how amazing she was as a supervisor. She was a trail blazer in our district. Prayers for all that loved her. She leaves a great legacy! 

Doris White - such a CLASSY lady!  She was my first supervisor and all in the department were saddened by her retirement.  Missed her presence as she WAS the speech department.  
Having a cup of coffee ready for her always got her work observations of me off to a good start!  Even in her dresses or suits, Doris never hesitated to sit in those tiny student chairs.  Doris helped me learn and grow in the field and for that I am forever grateful. 
My sincere sympathies to her family.  

Doris was such an amazing  and compassionate woman. She was my supervisor for over 20 years. Everyone in the department loved her. 
May her memory be for a blessing.

Doris hired me at Columbus City Schools and was my supervisor until her retirement. She was the best; kind, compassionate and had a great sense of humor. She called us her “girls” and Dewey (We had 1 male SLP). She understood that there was more to being a great leader than going by the book. When my mother became terminally ill   with cancer, she allowed me to restructure my work schedule in order to attend to my Mom’s  health needs in her last days. I will be forever grateful for her act of kindness. God gave her many days on earth and now she is at rest.  Peace and comfort to her family. 🙏🏾
