Donald E Strawser

Donald E. Strawser, 93 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Monday January 6, 2025, at 10:35 AM at the Brethren Retirement Community. Donald was born December 13, 1931, in Darke County, Ohio, the son of the late Jesse and Mabel (Howdeshell) Strawser.

Donald served his country in the United State Marine Corp in the Korean War; he worked for 41 years at Delco Products. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 143; he enjoyed wood crafting and made cabinets and bookshelves; He was a gardener and was extremely proud of a flower he grew from a leaf and took particular care of.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Richard E. Strawser; and his siblings, Charlotte Laughman, Marilyn Weaver, and infant Richard E. Strawser.

Donald is survived by his wife of 72 years Norma “Jeanie” (Townsend) Strawser whom he married September 20, 1952; his sons and daughter in law, Michael E. and Penny (Linder) Strawser, and Mark A. Strawser; his grandchildren and spouses, Cody and Andrea Strawser, Casey and Brent Spille, Chase Strawser, Joshua and Lisa Strawser, and Brandy and Luke Winterrowd; his great grandchildren, Alexis and CJ Strawser, Morgan and McKinley Spille, and Marion and Henry Winterrowd; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A private service will be held at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Chaplain Jacque Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Abbottsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice.
