Dick Oswalt, age 74 of Greenville, Ohio (formerly of Bradford, OH) passed away peacefully at 6:10 PM on Monday, October 18, 2021 at Brookdale Assisted Living, Greenville, Ohio. Born in Winchester, Indiana on May 17, 1947 he was a son to the late Carrol & Dora (Ristau) Oswalt. Dick was a proud United States Air Force veteran, having served in Vietnam. He spent many years working in welding, and driving dump trucks for various companies. He was a member of the American Legion post 140, and the AMVETS post 66 in Covington, Ohio. In his free time he enjoyed going to flea markets, the Darke County Fair, and Steam Thrashers. He will truly be missed. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son Rodney Oswalt: brother Charles Oswalt.
Survived by his wife of 41 years, Julie (Marker) Oswalt: brother Leland & Bev Oswalt: sister Sharon Oswalt: step- daughter Bonnie Westfall: step-siblings Ron & Vicki Armstrong; Mary & Barry Rodeheffer; Deb Evans; Caroline Couch: step-mother Olive Oswalt.
Friends may call on the family on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 4:00 PM- 7:00 PM at the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 3:30 PM at Spring Hill Cemetery, Washington Township, Ohio where military honors will be performed by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard.
