Just 17 hours after coming into this world, Sawyer James Swanson passed peacefully on August 11, 2023 at Ascension St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. During that fleeting time, he touched many lives and was loved by all who were praying for him.
He had a head full of dark hair, the most precious face, a fighting spirit and was born at 8:13 am on August 10 and gained his angel wings the next morning at 1:45 am.
Before God took him home, his devoted parents Ryan & Katie Swanson of Greensburg, IN talked to him, sang to him, and even read him the book that Katie wrote for him as the NICU team weaned him off of life support systems. He was barely able to open his eyes, but he did look at his Mommy & Daddy before he finally passed away in his Mother’s arms.
Sawyer was the grandson of loving grandparents Michael & Karen Rappa of Roseville, CA and Bob & Diane Swanson of Roseville, CA. He was the nephew of Michaela Rappa of Fort Meyers, FL, Katelyn & Jason Headington of Antelope, CA and Anthony & Jenifer Swanson of Eagle Mountain, UT, and the cousin of Alex Swanson of Eagle Mountain, UT.
Baby Sawyer was held for a moment but will be loved for a lifetime.
