She was born in Rexville, IN, on June 8, 1929, and was a long-time resident of Greensburg. Mary Lou will be remembered by many for her work at Shoe Tree, YMCA, Delta Faucet and her volunteer work at the hospital. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Greensburg and most recently was attending The Sandcreek Baptist Church.
Mary Lou is survived by her daughter Linda (Leslie) Evans of Greensburg, son Wayne (Chris) Ricketts of Greensburg, daughter Susan (Chris) Schott of Mason, OH, seven grandchildren - Julie (Bill) Wenning, Mike Evans, Robert Evans, Donnie Ricketts, Phillip Ricketts, Eric Waters, Christopher (Amanda) Waters, five great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Maxwell Napper, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Marvin Ricketts, mother Nelda Smith, sister Marita Napper, and grandparents Roy and Ada Kirk.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, August 18 from 4PM – 7PM at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. Mary Lou’s Funeral Service will begin at 10AM on Wednesday, August 19 also at the funeral home; Interment will follow at the Shelby Christian Cemetery in southern Ripley County. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of Decatur County.
