Marjorie L. Miller, 89 of Carthage, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2016, at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis. Marjorie was born on October 31, 1926, in Carthage, the daughter of Howard and Stella (Irvine) Souder. She graduated from Carthage High School in 1944. On September 11, 1948 she married Richard L. Miller at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rushville; he preceded her in death on January 1, 2005.
Marjorie worked as a seamstress supervisor at Ward Stilson Company in Rushville during WWII, making soldier uniforms. After she married Richard she was a farm wife.
She is survived by her two daughters Ann Miller of Versailles, IN, Mary (Steve) Kohlman of Napoleon, IN; eleven sons – Louie (MaryBeth) Miller of Milroy, IN, James (Susan) Miller of Winter Haven, FL, John (Laura) Miller of Greensburg, Carl (Verna Sue) Miller of Greensburg, Kenny (Alice) Miller of Ft. Myers, FL, Frank Miller of Florida, Joe (Angel) Miller of Greensburg, Marvin (Jeniece) Miller of Milroy, IN, Steve Miller of Carthage, IN, David Miller of Arlington, IN, and Robert (Elissa) Miller of Raleigh, NC; one brother – Harold Souder of Rushville; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sister Betty McCorkle.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 13 from 11AM until the start of the funeral mass at 1PM at the St. Maurice Catholic Church in Napoleon. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Maurice Catholic Church. Online condolences may be made at www.gilliland-howe.com.
