Judith (Judy) B. Fields, 78 of Greensburg, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017 at her residence. Judy was born on December 29, 1938 in Osgood, the daughter of Seibert and Edith (Fox) Laswell. She married William Fields on January 5, 1962 in Versailles and he survives.
Other survivors include her daughters - Nancy Gravely of Shelby County and Kelly (Kevin) Black of Woodstock, GA; sons – Bobby (Micki) Fields of Austin, TX, John (Kathy) Fields of Westport and Daniel (Ivy) Fields of Navarre, FL; 12 grandchildren (Cristin Savage, Tyler Fields, Kaitlyn Black, Ashley Fields, Kylie Black, Michael Fields, Sarah Fields, Rebecca Fields, Johnny Fields, Levi Fields and Sean Bagby) and 1 great granddaughter (Sarai Savage). She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters Nadene Cramer and Carolee Palmer and a grandson Donny Shane Lee.
Judy was a servant of the Lord with decades of service. She was a church piano player and Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the Auxiliary of Gideon’s Ministry. She was a Christian clown (Safflower). She was involved in the SOWER (Servants on Wheels Ever Ready) Ministry. She also worked as a nurse’s aide as well as performed various jobs at the YMCA. But most of all she was proud of her role as a loving Mother, Grandmother and devoted wife. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greensburg.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, September 20 from 4PM – 7PM at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 10AM on Thursday, September 21 at the First Baptist Church in Greensburg with Pastors Cliff Bunch and Steve Wood officiating. Burial will follow at the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Napoleon. Memorial contributions may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
